A passing route proves only the path it executes.
Every claim should name its scope, source or experiment, environment, and remaining uncertainty.
Evidence classes
Use the strongest accurate label. Never upgrade an implementation observation or emulator comparison into hardware truth.

Hardware qualification checklist
- Experiment question and case identity
- Probe path and exact commit
- Toolchain and exact input hash
- PSP model, region, firmware, and CFW
- Transport qualification
- Capture integrity and repetition count
- Raw observation separated from interpretation
- Launch/capture failure separated from semantic output
Transport failures are not semantic passes. Launch failure, missing output, corrupt capture, or a PSP crash answers a different question than the probe result.
Novelty scale
Use bounded labels instead of absolute “first ever” claims. This scale is a research aid, not a marketing claim.
N0–N1 · Locate
N0 unknown or unsearched.
N1 reproduced prior art.
N2–N3 · Improve
N2 clarified or corrected prior art.
N3 new public implementation detail.
N4–N5 · Extend
N4 new cross-source synthesis.
N5 new qualified hardware observation.
Corrections are part of the record
Update current claims
If source, experiment, or implementation changes the conclusion, update the claim status and preserve the correction trail.
Preserve historical scope
Historical notes remain historical; current source and tests win when an evergreen page disagrees.
Public safety
Examples on this site use source-owned or synthetic fixtures. Restricted game inputs and private captures remain local.
